Ah, so begins the Twilight and Harry Potter debate...
No. It's been going on forever, but just recently stuck my interest. I thought about: Why Twilight will never win my heart, personally, and why Harry Potter can make you gasp, widen your eyes and cover your heart all at the same time (over whelm with emotion)!
The answer to me is simple, I doubt many people feel the same way. Magic is magic: whether it's vampires or wizards, whether its wands or immense strength, whether it's Twilight or Harry Potter. So, if one likes the former, I guess it's a given they'll like the latter. Of course, not if a particular individual prefers wizards to vampires or vice versa. ANYWAY.
The reason why I like HP better, apart from the fact that Kristen Stewart though very sultry looks constipated all the bloody time? Is because IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR VAMPIRES TO FALL IN LOVE AND ACT THE WAY THEY DO (as show in TL). Seriously, SERIOUSLY! And then the fight for the human damsel in distress, while a werewolf fights off a vampire??? EVEN BETTER, and more stupid. No?
Where as in HP, Rowling let's you know there is another world, which humans DO NOT know about, where these magical people exist. So see, there is another world, a possibility... and she explains what happens there, all along not disrupting the ordinary human world.
She clearly distinguishes the worlds apart, which lets us know that whilst it does really happen, it can even be our imagination and something we'll never really know....
Twilight author, better get her game on...
For me, she's just not doing!
