Muse and MTV Exit

I like shopping.
(Yes, if some of you'll missed out the fact that I'm a girl between all the ranting and bitching).

Anyway, I like shopping. I like it a lot.
It makes me happy, and not in some stupid superficial 5 step way.
(In case you were wondering, these are the 5 steps: 1. Dress Up 2.Click Picture 3.Delete and Click Another Picture 4.Upload on FB 5.Wait patiently for comments and likes*)

But in a look good for myself kind of way... so, I'm careful when I go shopping.
Because if it goes wrong, then my whole day will be thrown off course.
If I don't look good to me, I can be a very angry person.
And I'm very hard to please.

Anyway, fuck all that.
The main thing is, often when I go shopping I know the places I'd like to visit: H&m, Forever 21 and other cheap stores that no one knows about.
But I rarely ever look at the label or where it's made.
Of course I've seen China and India written mostly but I've never given any thought to it.
I mean honestly, have you?

Why would you, when the dress fits and you look good and feel right in it, yeah?

And then I came across this:

Muse Team Up With MTV Exit
New short film MK Ultra to raise awareness of human trafficking
11:41, Friday, 17 September 2010
MTV EXIT and Muse have teamed up to highlight the plight of millions of people who are trafficked every year and forced into a life of forced labour, prostitution or domestic servitude.

The short film features the Muse track MK Ultra, and was given a special preview screening during the band’s recent Wembley Stadium concerts.

If you've watched it before, and it hasn't affected your life, then you suck.
After I did, I started questioning where all my clothing was from, and started to feel really uneasy at the thought of exploiting young children from third world countries.

But yes, I've promised to not be a little pretentious know-it-all and I have to be honest and say that maybe 2 weeks from now I won't remember this, and I'll be buying clothes with 'Made In India' tags stuck all over them.
But for now, I do care, and I hope for the sake of my own dignity (I hope I'm using the right word here) I hope I do not forget.

Anyway, I hope I've informed whoever's been reading.
I have to go check out whether my favorite stores are exploiting people.

*I love comments and likes as well
